Betty Boop Purse

This bag was inspired by the Betty Boop Pot Holder posted on Craftown

Pattern for Betty Boop Bag
Red Heart super saver yarn  2oz White for face 
Small amount of Brown for Hair, Eyes, & Nose.
Small amount of Red for lips.
3oz of Pink for Bag

G crochet hook.

The face of the potholder is made as directed using the G hook and white yarn.

The hair using Brown yarn is modified using 35 SC instead of 65. Where multiples of 8 or  6 are used.
 Make  2 eyes using Brown and chain after eyeball. Sew to face see photo
Sew Lashes and brows on face (see photo for guidance)
Lips use Red  CH 6 - 2 SC, 2HD, 2SC -repeat same on other side of chain  Attach to face.

To make the Bag  (Make front and back)
Chain 31 turn 
Row 1-  SC in 30 chains increasing one stitch on each side using second stitch and stitch before last.
Repeat row 1 for row 2-8
Row 9 - 29   SC
Row 30 - 36 SC across reducing 1 SC each side in second stitch and stitch before last. (30 SC),
Continue working rows until desired opening. I continued for five rows until 20 SC.

To assemble:
Line face if desired.
Attach face to front with needle &  yarn. Leaving top open as pocket.
Attach front and back with SC leaving top open.
SC around entire top.
Next row DC ch1 skip 1 SC around. ( this is for drawstring to be used as strap & closure.
SC around 2 more rows and fasten off.

Make drawstring by twisting or ICord or SC  to desired length
Weave in drawstring and secure ends as desired. I tied a know leaving bottom 2" for fringe.
