Luv the Hedge Hog

Well I took the plunge and cut my hair short, short, short.

When my Husband saw it he said "I love it, you look like a hedge hog". Thus Luv the Hedge Hog was created.

I used worsted weight yarn and F hook
The body is in warm brown and the hair is ombré bikini. The nose is dark brown. The eyes are embroidered.

She is so cute and cuddly!

Baby Mobile

The Baby Mobile is made with Red Heart Super Saver. It will look great over the crib or on the wall. To hang on the wall using a flowerpot hanger will keep it in sight for baby and out of the way when you are attending to baby in the crib.

Sun Clouds Rainbow and Raindrops in bright colors will keep baby smiling!

All little girls love Dolls - big girls love them too. 

This Crochet Doll is easy to make using worsted weight yarn.

I used Red Heart super saver. It works up pretty fast using a F hook.

Use lots of stuffing to ensure that she retains her shape. 

The hair can be done in any style. For Bernie I used this Hair Tutorial.

Because this is for a child I embroidered the 
eyes using black yarn which I stripped in 
half to approximate the size of embroidery 
thread.

Kokeshi Mix & Match

 Kokeshi Dolls are fun to make and great to  display or for little girls play time.

To make them more interesting and entertaining I have made the parts interchangeable.

Amigurumi

Amigurumi (編みぐるみ^?, lit. crocheted stuffed toy) is the Japanese art of crocheting small stuffed animals and  creatures having human characteristics, such as Bears  and Monkeys. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll. Amigurumi are typically animals, but can include artistic renderings or inanimate objects endowed with anthropomorphic features, as is typical in Japanese culture.

Amigurumi have no practical use; they are created and collected for aesthetic reasons. The pervading aesthetic of amigurumi is cuteness. To this end, typical amigurumi animals have an over-sized spherical head on a cylindrical body with undersized extremities, usually termed a chibi style outside of Japan. 

Amigurumi may be used as children's toys but are generally purchased or made solely for aesthetic purposes.

Sage - The Crochet Pig Puzzle

Introducing Sage The Crochet Pig Puzzle. Sage is so adorable. Her name is derived from the delicious Sausage of the US South.


Sage is stuffed with remnants from 
T-Shirts that were left after making Tarn (T-Shirt Yarn / More on tarn in a future post.) 

The basis for this Puzzle is the Amish Crochet Puzzle Ball.  However, this puzzle is my own creation and does not have a pattern.

Spicy Oliver Octopus Puzzle

Meet Spicy Oliver Octopus - 
Chili Pepper Red, Scotch Bonnet Yellow, with a Touch of cool White.

This adorable Spicy Oliver Octopus is made with worsted weight yarn. 

You can take him apart & Put him back together. Yellow & White position varies based on how you put him together.

Spicy Oliver is made using the Olive Crochet Octopus Pattern. The pattern uses the basic Amish Puzzle Ball and is one in a series of Animal Patterns.

Amish Puzzle Ball

This Amish Puzzle Ball pattern created by Dedri is the first of her Puzzle Ball Patterns. It is the basis for many Animal Puzzles.





This Ball is made by creating three pieces that are put together to make the ball. 







This ball gives the little hands that hold it a great ball and the ability to do what kids love - take it apart and learn to put it back together.The Mini Amish Ball Puzzle pattern is also on the site. 

I loved making these & will make other puzzles.
